Thumbs up Big Riding Day for Uma

The wife, Uma, who only rides if its 75 and sunny cause she won't ride in the rain PERIOD or if its colder than anything under that temp. Further, she never feels comfortable enough to ride by herself. So with those restrictions coupled with my work sked, she usually does shit for riding miles.

Well she has had it with that and had it with no riding. So all week we have been talking about her riding to work Friday(today). Its a jean day and the weather is suppose to be good. Plus how much better can a TGIF be, than riding to work for the first time.

So I made sure the bike had gas (another one of her "ism's"), got her set up with a Buell backpack for her work stuff. She was all nervous, giddy, and laughin last night about it. But..

She did it! Rode her 20 mile jaunt into work this morning. Its a small step to most but I'm so proud. I'm sure it will lead to much more riding which will lead to more comfort with riding by her. Its just all GREAT!!

I'm working up to this day for my wife as well. She's never ridden anywhere alone outside of our neighborhood

I can't believe you let your wife ride in jeans!

Apparently you don't love her.

Seriously, kudos to her for taking a big step in her riding independence.

Good luck talking her into that.

A little... but I know she's good enough to ride by herself. She's her biggest doubter and critic.

That's usually all we ride in bud... Oh and a half dot helmet too.

But I told her on dress days (her normal days) she could put on her chaps if she wants.
